FRIENDS HEALTH CENTER since january 2007.

FWT is actually involved in various activities related to community Health Services. FWT is running four health centers in rural and underprieviliged areas of Pakistan. There are in Rawalpindi, Kashmir, Leiya and Mianwali. These centers are run by qualified doctors and give free consultancy and medicine to poor patients of the area.

Friend's Health Center Kashmir

 

Friends' Welfare Trust (FWT) by the grace of Allah and with the continuous support of Pakistani community in Kuwait has come a long way since its inception in 2005.. Friends Health Center under the patronage of FWT started working in Rawalpindi in January, 2007. FWT and Leyiah has set up of two new health centers in the remotely underdeveloped area of Hattian Bala,Chakar (Kashmir) and Leiya (Punjab). Hattian Bala was one of the worst hit areas in 2005 earthquake in Kashmir. All the NGOs working in this area left in 2007 and no health facility is now available to the resident of that area.

Free Medical Camps

The Trustees of Friends’ Welfare trust feel proud to introduce the free medical camps for Pakistani community in Kuwait. Many camps have been organized with the cooperation of Society of Pakistani Doctors in Kuwait under the umbrella of Kuwait Medical Association. Thousands of people were provided free consultation services by the specialists from every field and all type of investigations like ECG, ultrasound ,hepatitis screening , blood group, blood sugar services are provided so that they understand their disease better and get proper management of their ailments. These camps are specially helpful for the Pakistani community members who are unable to visit hospitals due to different reasons or cannot communicate with the local doctors due to their inability to speak and understand the Arabic language.

Public Health Awareness Program

Friends’ Welfare Trust, has started a campaign of preparing and publishing health awareness booklets in Urdu on major diseases for general public. These booklets are prepared under expert supervision of senior doctors. Six most important and common diseases including hepatitis, asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, angina and heart attack are discussed in detail in these booklets. The main aim of this campaign is to increase the health awareness in general public working in Kuwait by providing them with the relevant information on signs and symptoms and treatment goals of common health problems. The format of these booklets is simple, easy to understand and is supported with illustrations and pictures. Approximately sixty thousand copies of these booklets are printed and displayed in specially designed boxes at places of public interest to increase the utility of these booklets. FWT has also prepared the brochure for the swine flu in urdu that include all updated information about swine flue and how to prevent from swine flu. About 15,000 copy of swine flue brochure was printed and distributed in Kuwait. These six booklets are freely available at the different places like exchange companies, restaurants and other prominent places in Kuwait. Teenage Health Education Program

Friends’ Welfare Trust is the first organization which has installed health education program for young Pakistani students. This program is a joint venture between the Ministry of Health Kuwait and Friends’ Welfare Trust, aimed at providing general information to teenage girls and boys about the problems related to puberty and hazards of smoking in young age. Moreover the young boys and girls are educated about healthy habits like daily exercise and balanced diet through lectures and seminars. These programs provide a platform of interactive learning where the participants are encouraged to ask questions and discuss their problems. FWT has conducted lectures ondifferent diseases for students as well as for general public in Kuwait.
